I'm going to yell here...just to get it out, 'kay?
Here we go...
I AM SICK TO DEATH OF THE WORD "BLING"!
It's played out, people. Overdone. Ran into the ground. Enough already.
Now, I am not the purveyor of cool, by any means. And I am completely in understanding of those of you who use the word in a I-know-this-is-goofy-as-heck-so-that's-why-I-use-it way. I use the words "groovy" and "wow" and "smooches" and call everyone "homeboy" and "homegirl" in that same manner. In a sort've ironic way.
But it is everywhere. Everywhere.
Who ever knew that so many women had so much in common with Southern-style rappers?
Okay. Just had to say that. You do what you must.
I'll just be over here trying to get L'il Wayne outta my head.
"Every time I come around yo city,
Bling, bling."

:D, Your platinum-capped tooth is showing there, girlie!
Hahaha...I have to laugh because I just used that term recently when I posted about my vintage jewelry.
I meant it kinda tongue-in-check, ya know, because my Grandmas brooches are so "fly". LOL
Anyway, thatnks so much for stopping by my blog. I'm off to check out your etsy store.
Kimberly :)
You're welcome, Kimberly! I had a good time over there and I'm glad you get my sense of humor...I kind've like to tease people a bit and I'm always making fun of myself too. :)
Thank you! I can't stand the word, I don't know how it became so popular.
This from the girl who can sometimes be heard saying 'Lol' instead of laughing. Yes- Loll.
Oh, that's hilarious! I have that fear that I'll accidentally say LOL in "real life"/IRL but so far, so good. ;)
I guess the problem is there is no great alternative for "bling"...my vote is for something French and yummy-sounding!
Im with you on this! I use a ton of Bling Bling (Vintage Bling Bling) and have do not use the word ever in my descriptions. I say Sparkley or Jeweled. Played out as my 13 year old would say...
I agree with you 100%. That word needs to go! Nice blog.
BLING BLING, I am annoyed by the over used POP, a POP of color ahhhhhhhh drives me nuts!!!
Thanks, SimplyMe and Catherine!
Oooo, that's a good one, Monica...hmmm, what do you think about the words whimsy and whimsical? :D
